12 Jul 4705 - Additive Editions End in Horror
Magic Game Day is this Saturday. I want to go, and will probably be bugging
one or more of you to take us to Game Parlor for that exact purpose. This means
that I won't bother trying to go to the draft at the Lucky Frog on Friday, which
means that I'll have that time open to other things, which means I want to once
again repeat offend my coffee-house harassing trend.
So I'll be sending e-missive along to those who have been or may be interested
or I guess could possibly show up with enough provocation and warning, in
addition to reporting the matter here. I'll be asking around about it tonight as
well, so bring out those poems, people.
For those unfamiliar, what I mean by "repeat offend" is spending an evening
going to a coffee shop called Saxby's across the street from GMU, buying coffee,
picking a corner, and reading poems aloud for the whole shop. I've done this
twice; enjoyed and learned much. This time around, I'll try to organize everyone
and start earlier than sundown. I have to admit, it being summer and all,
sundown is freaking late. They close at 11, and business winds down well before
then. If you come, I won't force you to read. I highly recommend it,
though. And even if you don't bring any poetry of your own, we'll have some
there for ye. For further information, may I suggest my articles from previous
weeks, further down the page.
Rolling like an avalanche, coming down the mountain.
And wizards did it again. Tenth edition has just enough exciting stuff in it to
get me excited. When I learned Time Stop was going to be reprinted, I knew I
wanted a playset (that means four copies of the card, the most allowed in a
constructed deck), but now that I learn the foil cards will be without reminder
text, making a foil Time Stop read simply "End the turn," I knew I wanted at
least one of my playset to be a foil.
It's so abrupt, so concise, so perfect. And it is about time I ended this turn
too, so until nex—
And that was supposed to represent a clever way to end the update, but instead I
have to take back everything I said.
You all can go to Saxby's if you wish, and do whatever you like. I will not be
able to go.
On a related note, if you would like to meet my mother and my first younger
brother, be at my house around 6. I'll have to keep the meeting generally short,
and what you do after that is up to you and whomever else is around. And yes, I
realize that without me insisting everyone go and embarrass themselves and each
other, it probably won't happen, but I'd like to think that I can start
something that in part is bigger than I am.
