Also, good news, everyone!
This afternoon, I'm taking the pirate crew (including any of ye who wish to go)
off to DC to the coffee shop called Mocha Hut to experience an open mic night in
an excellent venue.
I'm pretty sure their open mic starts around 7 and lasts well into the night,
and there's not a hard deadline to it either.
Ye'll all drink coffee and make merry whether or not ye feel the need to be
poetic.
Ye'll meet kind strangers.
I'll start calling a few of ye as soon as I get off work at 4:30, and puzzle out
a way to the metro. The shop is across from the U-street metro stop on the green
line, so should be easy to navigate toward, and if you're with me then I know
the way and so do you. This place is basically awesome and you should come join
me. I'll be reading (I hope) a piece I wrote about the boxing match to take
place tomorrow in Vegas between the most good-natured working-class hero of a
boxer you could ever ask for (Ricky Hatton), and the world's perhaps most
conceited man (Floyd Mayweather).
Yar har, fiddle de dee!
